Earlier this week a rocket fired from Gaza hit a building in Askelon’s industrial area causing damage but no-one was injured.

This was the first rocket that has been fired from Gaza since the recent ceasefire.

This morning’s Israel Hayom newspaper reports that after several weeks of calm on the Syrian border, yesterday a shell fired by Assad’s forces hit an open field just outside a moshav in the Golan Heights. It did not explode and did not cause damage. The article continues by reporting that 6 of the 7 injured Syrians who crossed into Israel and were treated at the hospital in the northern town of Safed yesterday returned to Syria. The remaining Syrian patient is still in hospital in a serious condition having undergone two operations.
