Attacks continue

Ynetreports 7 mortars were fired into the Eshkol region of Israel from Gaza this evening. The IDFSpokesperson tweeted that they were in fact rockets. Residents have been advised to stay in their safe rooms. No-one has been injured by these attacks.

An Israeli soldier lost part of his hand when a bomb exploded beside him near the Gaza border earlier today.

A Palestinian man was stopped today at the Kalandiya checkpoint, just north of Jerusalem, carrying 8 pipe bombs, reports the Jerusalem Post.

Update: 28 rockets and mortars hit southern Israel from Gaza over night (Ynet, Hebrew only).
